Join us this August for a Healing Centered Retreat

Are you feeling burnt out and craving a different kind of offering for early childhood educators? Are you feeling like you still need rest even after a day off? Are you confused about how to support autistic children in a way that feels good at the end of the day?

Relational health science tells us that we cannot fully support children with a depleted spirit. So, at The Healing Helix we move from the understanding that children’s development is wrapped up in ours. Join us for facilitated self-care practices that are designed for nervous system restoration, and be in community with others who are doing the sacred work of caring for children. Nourish your heart in a space where you are cared for with the same level of intention with which you care for others. Restore your mind with fresh perspectives and effective strategies from experts to authentically see and serve autistic learners. Nourish your body with nutritious food and immerse yourself in nature where you’ll be able to sit with the rhythms of the air, the water, and the hills.

There are three rates to choose from with guidance about how to determine the best fit. All rates include two workshop sessions, two self-care sessions, light breakfast, and lunch. The retreat agenda has been planned with a balance of learning, integration, and rest, in mind.

Your facilitators (us!) will offer a guided self-care practice and integration of the content offered by each of our guest teachers:

Angela Carolina Garcia and Lauren Stauble are healing-centered educators (trained by the Acosta Institute), who each started their career as a Reggio Inspired early childhood educator. Lauren co-authored a book Tiny Humans, Big Emotions, and her expertise is supporting little ones, their teachers, and their families when it comes to behaviors that adults find challenging. She’s also a mama  to one, and has some experience with foster parenting. Angela is trained in Embodied Social Justice and Relational Health for Infants. She currently supports FCC providers through a facilitated, remote community of care funded by ESF for unionized FCC providers across MA. Angela and Lauren are both madrinas, community college professors of early childhood education in the Boston area, and co-hosts of the podcast, “Sacred: reclaiming intuitive teaching and caregiving relationships”.

Our guest teachers will each offer a session to share their knowledge and experience supporting autistic children in ECE spaces:
