It’s hard to find professional development that leaves the team feeling inspired and ready to implement new strategies. And even though webinars are plentiful it can be hard to stay engaged – it’s way too easy to have them on in the background and get distracted by your to-do list. Workshops, classes, and retreats with The Healing Helix will call you into the present moment. We will invite you to show up as you are with yourself and your colleagues to play with ideas and strategies that are relevant and practical to your community.

Upcoming Offerings:

Are you feeling burnt out and craving a different kind of offering for teachers? Are you feeling like you still need rest even after a day off? Are you confused about how to support autistic children in a way that feels good at the end of the day?

Relational health science tells us that we cannot fully support children with a depleted spirit. So, at The Healing Helix we move from the understanding that children’s development is wrapped up in ours. Join us for facilitated self-care practices that are designed for nervous system restoration, and be in community with others who are doing the sacred work of caring for children. Nourish your heart in a space where you are cared for with the same level of intention with which you care for others. Restore your mind with fresh perspectives and effective strategies from experts to authentically see and serve autistic learners. Nourish your body with nutritious food and immerse yourself in nature where you’ll be able to sit with the rhythms of the air, the water, and the hills.

Facilitators, Angela Carolina Garcia & Lauren Stauble, will offer a guided self-care practice and integration of the content offered by each of our guest teachers.

Guest teachers, Lori Goodrich and Sarah Helm-Dunbar, will each offer a session to share their knowledge and experience supporting autistic children in ECE spaces.

Angela and Lauren, co-conspirators of The Healing Helix, are healing-centered educators, who each started their career as a Reggio Inspired early childhood educator. Lauren co-authored a book Tiny Humans, Big Emotions, and her expertise is supporting little ones, their teachers, and their families when it comes to behaviors that adults find challenging. She’s also a mama and former foster parent. Angela is trained in Embodied Social Justice and Relational Health for Infants. She currently supports FCC providers through a facilitated, remote community of care. Praise for our workshops:

“We had some challenging conversations around Pride and the learning through the project truly supported us as a community. We had common language to use and tools to acknowledge each other as we talked about very personal experiences. Lauren and Angela’s ability to lead this work through example and sharing of their personal journeys created a space of trust and acceptance.”
– RCCC Admin

“Teachers were given opportunities to reflect on their own emotions and understand more deeply how these feelings generate. The break out groups reported to be really engaging, and the balance of self reflection, connection and instruction was spot on.”
– Hilary Odoy, BARIN

“Participants were extremely happy…the most often comment was that it was information that was usable instantly in their work. Also, that it addressed what they needed as the ‘bad behavior’ is a way to say ‘I need help’ and not just bad behavior.”
– Nora, ECE Leadership
